York Board of Health passes mask mandate

YORK, Neb. (KHGI) — The City of York Board of Health passed a mask mandate Tuesday, adding itself to the list of cities to enact this policy.
The Board of Health includes five members: York’s Mayor, Chief of Police, City Attorney, City Physician, and Council President. The mandate passed on a 4-1 vote.
Starting Monday, places on to the public must display signage instructing patrons to wear a face-covering. If members of the public chose not to wear a mask regardless, they will face a $25 fine.
The mask mandate will last though Jan. 15.
