10 pounds of suspected cocaine found on I-80

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KLKN) – State troopers found 10 pounds of suspected cocaine during a traffic stop on Interstate 80.

On Saturday, July 4, around 3:30 p.m. a trooper with the Nebraska State Patrol performed a traffic stop where a NSP K9 detected smell of a controlled substance from the vehicle.

After searching, several packages of suspected cocaine were found in a suitcase and an arrest was made.

48-year-old Chevonne Martin, the driver of a Kia Telluride, and 42-year-old Julius Sutton were arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver.

Both Martin and Sutton were lodged in Lincoln County Jail.
