11 vehicles stolen in Lincoln crime spree; one involved in hit-and-run, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln Police Department is investigating a rash of auto thefts from over the weekend.

One of the cases involves a hit-and-run on 11th and O Streets that was reported Sunday at 8:15 a.m.

Police say that during their investigation, they were notified about another crash involving the same 2019 Hyundai Tucson.

Two people were arrested following that second wreck at 27th Street and Arbor Road.

37-year-old Shawn Luginbill and his passenger, 35-year-old Bashir Farah, were both taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Authorities say a remote key fob had been left inside the Tucson when it was stolen, as was the case in three of these 11 investigations.

They’re reminding everyone to keep your keys and key fobs with you at all times, in addition to locking your doors.
