The final tickets were punched to the state championships on Thursday with Ashland-Greenwood, Auburn and Parkview Christian among the group of teams to advance.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The final tickets were punched to the state championships on Thursday with Ashland-Greenwood, Auburn and Parkview Christian among the group of teams to advance.

BOYS SCORES:

Class A semifinals – Millard North 58, Gretna 43

Class A semifinals – Belleview West 68, Creighton Prep 51

Class C1 semifinals – Auburn 48, Fort Calhoun 46 (OT)

Fort Calhoun, who had not appeared in the state tournament since the Harding administration, put the three-time defending Class C1 champion Auburn to the test, but the Bulldogs prevailed in overtime, sparked by Maverick Binder, who led Auburn with 24 points.

Class C1 semifinals: Ashland-Greenwood 61, Kearney Catholic 55

In a battle of two of Class C1’s biggest stars in Ashland-Greenwood’s Cale Jacobsen and Kearney Catholic’s Brett Mahony, it was Jacobsen who shined the brightest, setting a C1 tournament record with 43 points in the Bluejays win.

Class D2 semifinals – St. Mary’s 65, Osceola 36

Class D2 semifinals – Parkview Christian 46, Falls City Sacred Heart 31

Parkview Christian avenged last season’s D2 championship loss to Sacred Heart, outscoring the Irish 28 to 14 in the second half.

 

GIRLS SCORES:

Class B semifinals – Elkhorn North 68, Norris 52

The Wolves forced a number of Titan turnovers and consistently crashed the offensive glass in this matchup. Britt Prince (29 points) and Grace Thompson (21) combined to score 50 points for Elkhorn North in their win over Norris.

Class B semifinals – Skutt Catholic 55, Adams Central 31

Class C2 semifinals – Bridgeport 69, Oakland-Craig 55

Class C2 semifinals – Hastings St. Cecilia 39, Crofton 36

Class D1 semifinals – Humphrey/LHF 53, Archbishop Bergan 38

Class D1 semifinals – Shelton 53, Cedar Catholic 37
