UPDATE: Troopers have arrested man accused of shooting Lincoln man in the head

Authorities asked early Thursday morning for the public's help locating a man accused of shooting another man in the head.

UPDATE:  According to the Nebraska State Patrol, troopers have arrested Antoine C. Johnson near Henderson. The patrol says more details will be released when available.

The Grand Island Police Department says a warrant has been issued for the arrest of 33-year-old Antoine C. Johnson, of Lincoln, for attempt of a class one felony, use of a firearm to commit a felony, first-degree assault and use of a firearm to commit a felony.

GIPD says Johnson is suspected of shooting 31-year-old Gary Zierke III, of Lincoln, in the head early Thursday morning in Grand Island. Zierke was flown to an Omaha hospital and is in critical condition, GIPD said.

Johnson is described as a black male, about 5’11” in height, and 185 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Authorities say he should be considered possibly armed and dangerous.
