42,000 pounds of wheat flour destroyed in tractor-trailer fire

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A blaze inside of a tractor-trailer destroyed 42,000 pounds of whole wheat flour on Monday, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office said.

Around 8:47 p.m., the driver noticed smoke coming from the tractor-trailer near Highway 34 and Highway 99, just northwest of Lincoln.

They were then able to pull over to the side of the road and detach the tractor-trailer from the semi, the sheriff’s office said.

The fire caused $50,000 of damages to the tractor-trailer and destroyed $10,080 worth of whole wheat flour, according to the sheriff’s office.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
