5-year-old boy in critical condition after being struck by vehicle

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A 5-year-old child was hit by a vehicle in central Lincoln on Sept. 6 around 12 p.m.

Lincoln Police Department (LPD) said the boy was riding his scooter through a crosswalk at 40th and Van Dorn streets.

He was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening head injuries and is in critical condition.

LPD said the vehicle involved was not believed to be speeding and no citations have been issued.
