SHERIFF: Kansas man killed in Jefferson County crash

Authorities said a Kansas man died after a single-vehicle rollover crash Sunday in Jefferson County.

Jefferson County Sheriff Nels Sorensen said deputies responded to the accident just south of the junction of 714 Avenue and River Road.

Sorensen said deputies found a man, identified as Cody W. Craig, of Hanover, Kansas, who was taken to Jefferson Community Health and Life where he was pronounced dead.

Another man was taken from the scene to a Lincoln hospital.

Investigators determined the vehicle left the roadway and rolled several times, ejecting both men.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor and seat belts were not believed to be in use, Sorensen said.

This matter remains under investigation at this time pending chemical tests and further investigation.
