Schools across Lincoln honoring Veterans Day

Schools all around the Capital City are honoring Veterans Day with a variety of activities, Monday, November 11th.

Here’s some events to check out:

8 a.m. – Northeast High School, 2635 N. 63rd St. – The Air Force Junior ROTC presents its annual Veterans Day assembly, which includes guest speaker Air National Guard Senior Airman Derek Hubbard

8:15 a.m. – Belmont Elementary School, 3425 N. 14th St. – The school’s third annual Veterans Parade, when invited veterans walk through the hallways to the applause of staff and students. Veterans are then invited to stay for an appreciation coffee

9 a.m. – Kooser Elementary School, 7301 N. 13th St. – Honoring invited family members of students who are veterans

9:15 a.m. – Riley Elementary School, 5021 Orchard St. – Veterans Day Assembly with special guest Jake Touchstone, former Navy Special Warfare. UNL’s Air Force ROTC will present our colors

11 a.m. – Fredstrom Elementary School, 5700 NW 10th St. – Veterans Day lunch

2:40 p.m. – Humann Elementary School, 6720 Rockwood Lane – A Veterans Day assembly featuring patriotic songs and a Q-and-A session with seven veterans
