LPD: Officers deploy Taser on knife-wielding man standing on porch

Authorities arrested a knife-wielding man who reportedly refused to comply with officers commands.

Lincoln police officers were dispatched around 4:20 p.m. Wednesday to a home near 28th and O Street on reports of the man yelling at people in the area while holding a knife.

Officers told the man, identified as 26-year-old Traves Nevels, to drop the knife. When he refused, an officer deployed a Taser, police said.

Nevels was arrested for obstructing a peace officer and resisting arrest.
