DMV warns of potential scam

There’s a scam going around that the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles want people to know about.
The DMV says they’re warning residents about scam phone calls from people claiming to work for the department.
Officials say they have received reports of such calls, where a person claims the DMV will “cut off” or recall a person’s driver’s license, unless they receive immediate payment.
The department wants you to know that they will never call you to demand payment, or threaten to recall a person’s driver’s license.
They say their communication with customers regarding their driver’s license will always be through mail.
If you do receive such a phone call, call the DMV or Lincoln Police’s non-emergency number at 402-441-6000.
