UNL receives 150,000 free KN95 masks

Four of them will be given to every student, faculty, and staff member

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Every Husker will receive four free masks, starting today.

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln partnered with the state, which provided them with 150,000 free KN95 masks.

“That should be enough to get us through this most current wave of COVID-19 infections,” said Tony Rathgeber, associate to the vice chancellor in Student Affairs.

This initiative was started by the university’s student government, Association of Students of the University of Nebraska.

Undergraduate students who live on campus will have their masks delivered to their residence hall or Greek house.  Undergraduate students living off campus can pick up their masks at the city or East campus student Unions during operating hours, and students must have their N-card available to receive them.  Faculty, staff, and graduate students on an assistantship will have their masks delivered through colleges and units.  Graduate students not on an assistantship can pick up their masks at the Office of Graduate Studies on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Distribution will begin Feb. 2.  The masks can be worn up to 40 hours with proper care.  Visit this website to see all information about how UNL’s COVID-19 policies and updates.
