Former Lincoln daycare employee charged with 4 counts of child sex assault

Prosecutors on Tuesday filed four felony child sex assault charges against a former employee at a Lincoln daycare.

Lancaster County court documents show Titus Miller, 26, who was an employee at Playful Painters daycare, faces two counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child and two counts of third-degree sexual assault of a child. Miller also faces child pornography charges in federal court.

Miller was an employee at Playful Painters from 2016 until October 2019. The details in both federal and county court remain sealed, but, according to the FBI, Miller allegedly sexually assaulted and covertly produced sexually graphic videos and photographs of victims.

Court documents say the crimes involve four children and occurred between July 31 and Sept. 16.

The daycare was placed under investigation, and agents and officers were seen last week outside the daycare.

If convicted, the four new charges carry a minimum of 30 years in prison, with the possibility of life behind bars.

Miller is being held by the U.S. Marshals. He is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on the federal charges next month.
