Donations open for Heartland Farms after devastating fire
One staff member and 9 horses were killed in the blaze

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Omaha Equestrian Foundation is showing support for Heartland Farms and the Cudmore’s as they recover from a deadly fire.
A barn fire at Heartland Farms in Bennington, Neb. started on the morning of Feb. 3, and eventually killed one staff member and nine horses. Ten additional horses are still being treated for their injuries. The fire was reported to be accidental. The building was around 35,000-40,000 square feet, and it is now completely decimated.
Other farm owners in the area and veterinarians have helped out to give the animals somewhere safe to stay while the Cudmore’s deal with the damages.
In a FaceBook post, the Omaha Equestrian Foundation encouraged donations for the Cudmore’s during their time of need. “As Heartland Farms & Karen Cudmore deals with the heartbreaking loss of a staff member, horses and barn, due to fire we wanted to give you an opportunity to give support. 100% of the money donated (minus cc fees) will benefit Heartland Farms.”
