LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A standoff in central Lincoln began after a man shot his neighbor’s van on Thursday.

Officers responded to the reported shooting near 27th and N streets just after midnight.

The 38-year-old victim, who reported the shooting, told police that an argument began between him and Antonio Guzman, 27, regarding money.  The victim said the argument had been going on throughout the day.

According to LPD, the victim arrived home in his Kia van when Guzman fired a handgun, hitting the vehicle four times and causing $500 in damages.

Guzman then went back to his home.

Officers began to communicate with Guzman when LPD SWAT teams arrived to assist in negotiations.  The standoff lasted two hours before Guzman was taken into custody.

Officers were told Guzman had a revolver, but they did not find one during a search of his home; they only found .22 rounds.

LPD charged Guzman with terroristic threats, use of a firearm to commit a felony, discharging a weapon within city limits, vandalism and unlawful discharge of a firearm.
