OPD: Woman in custody in death of 5-year-old Omaha boy

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An Omaha woman was arrested early Thursday morning in connection with the death of a 5-year-old boy, police said.

On Wednesday afternoon, the boy was brought unresponsive to Creighton University CHI Health Clinic’s emergency room.  He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

A 20-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of intentional child abuse resulting in death, according to police.

She was expected to appear in court for a bond hearing this week.

Police have not released the boy’s name or said how he died.  Police also have not said what the woman’s relationship is to the boy.
