Events popping up around Lincoln to get more people registered to vote

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The primaries will be here before we know it in the capital city, so to get people ready, The Lancaster County Election Commission hosted a voter registration event this past weekend at Gear Branch Library.
Residents who have recently changed their name, moved, or want to change their political party are encouraged to visit one of the registration sites.
For those who will be 18 by November 8th, now is your time to sign up as well.
These registration sites make it easy to register and get any questions you might have answered before election time begins.
“Every year the Lancaster County Election Commission brings us in to register voters all over the city. We’re in libraries, we’re in high schools, we’re in stores and things like this,” Tari Hendrickson, a volunteer with League of Women Voters.
Voter registration sites will be popping up throughout Lincoln in the next few months in an effort to get more people registered to vote.
The next site is at Bennet Martin Library on Tuesday, March 8th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
