LPD: Man loses hundreds of dollars after attempting to buy French Bulldog online

Authorities say a man is out hundreds of dollars after attempting to purchase a French Bulldog online. 

The 23-year-old reported trying to buy the dog for $780 from bulldogbabieshome.com, a site he believes is legitimate, police said. 

While purchasing the dog the man was told to also purchase a $1,400 crate for the animal to be shipped in, police said. The man’s bank alerted him that the second transaction was fraudulent. 

The bank refunded the $1,400, but the victim still suffered a loss of $780. 

Police said the man probably won’t receive the dog, and encouraged anyone thinking about buying a pet to do their research on the seller in order to avoid becoming a victim of fraud.
