Interactive arts space opens at Gateway Mall

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — An interactive arts space had its grand opening Friday night at Gateway Mall.

Called Gateway to the Arts, it started as an initiative under Lincoln’s UpstArt program.

The space features artist Ann Williams’ interactive display “Garden of Possibilities.”

“It’s going to be a space where people can come and experience art where they necessarily might not otherwise have had the opportunity to do some art,” said Robert Goldberg, community engagement manager at the Lincoln Arts Council.

The space is a public studio and gallery. It’s free to view the art and talk to the artist.

“I do hope that when people see my art, like, they can see deeper into the pieces,” Williams said. “But I also hope they just get an overwhelming sense of joy and enjoy the beauty.”
