Nebraska State Patrol begins anti-distracted driving campaign
It's part of a nationwide effort

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Nebraska State Patrol has begun a statewide anti-distracted driving campaign.
“Distracted driving is a dangerous habit for many people,” said Col. John Bolduc, superintendent of NSP. “As we highlight those dangers this month with enforcement efforts and ongoing educational projects, we’re reminding all motorists that their most important job is to focus on driving. The text can wait.”
The “U Drive. U Text. U Pay.” campaign is a nationwide effort organized by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The campaign will run from Monday through Sunday, NSP said.
Troopers will also be giving presentations to young drivers across the state about the dangers of distracted driving.
More information on distracted driving can be found on the Buckle Up Phone Down page on the Nebraska Department of Transportation website.
