Strong winds and warm temperatures for start of weekend
A few widely scattered showers will be possible Saturday morning in southeast Nebraska, but most in the Channel 8 viewing area will remain dry this weekend.
Skies will start out mostly sunny in the morning and become partly cloudy by afternoon. Temperatures will rise to the upper 70s and lower 80s Saturday afternoon before a cold front passes, bringing cooler temperatures Sunday.
A few thunderstorms will try to fire up late Saturday afternoon and evening, but as has been the case in recent months, the storms will likely be to the east of Lincoln and Beatrice, in the extreme southeast corner of the state. Storms that develop will quickly move to the east.
What will be a larger impact to southeast Nebraska is the wind. It will be very strong throughout the day Saturday. Winds will likely gust 55-plus mph.
