Annual Lincoln GOLD Gala raises money for college scholarships

The fourth annual Lincoln GOLD Gala took place on Saturday night at the Cornhusker Marriott Ballroom.
Lincoln GOLD stands for Girls Organization for Leadership and Development.
On Saturday night they celebrated 31 high school girls who completed a nine month mentorship program.
In addition to the celebration, a fundraiser was held to raise money for future college scholarships given to area high school students.
“It’s always been my passion to help young ladies be the best they can be and give them confidence to walk into that first job interview or that first day of college, that’s what it’s all about,” said Lincoln GOLD President Robin Netz.
Channel 8’s Megan Conway was there, emceeing the event.
Over the last three years, Lincoln GOLD has given 80 college scholarships, totaling about $160,000.
