Clear skies will reign on Monday
Despite rain and storms very early on Sunday, the sun was able to conquer for the rest of the day. For much of the afternoon, skies were mostly sunny. The increased sunshine pushed temperatures into the lower and middle-70s for many.
Any remaining clouds will diminish on Sunday evening, setting everyone up for a clear overnight stretch. Clear skies and light winds will allow temperatures to cool quickly. We’re forecasting a low in the upper-40s in Lincoln.
Monday will be a gorgeous day! It will be warmer with high temperatures back in the lower-80s. The humidity will be low, so we do not expect a humid feel to the air. We expect full sunshine for the day on Monday.
A few storms may be firing in the western part of the state on Monday evening. However, Lincoln will remain completely dry on Monday evening. Those storms will try to push east overnight and into Tuesday morning.
Some scattered showers and storms are possible on Tuesday morning. More scattered storms are possible into Tuesday afternoon and evening.
At this point, I have a feeling we’ll have several dry periods on Tuesday. We do have to watch a severe weather potential, however. There is a chance some of the Tuesday evening storms may be on the stronger side. The Storm Prediction Center has placed central and southern Nebraska under a “slight” risk for severe weather on Tuesday.
This is something we’ll be watching in the coming days. Make sure to stay tuned for the latest updates.
