Two teens injured in rollover crash near Norfolk

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Two teenagers were injured in a rollover crash Monday near Norfolk.

First responders were sent to the single-vehicle crash about 12:45 p.m. on Old Highway 8 near Nebraska Highway 24.

A 16-year-old girl was critically injured when she was ejected from the vehicle, Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger told the Norfolk Daily News.

She was being flown to the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

The driver, a 16-year-old boy, fled the scene but was quickly found by deputies, authorities say.

Unger told Channel 8 that the boy did not have a driver’s license and that he will face several citations.

The boy suffered serious injuries and was taken to a Norfolk hospital.

Speed was a factor in the crash, the sheriff said.
