Assisted-living home holds pie eating contest to raise money for Alzheimer’s Association

On the longest day of the year, people across the country held fundraising events for the Alzheimer’s Association.
A local assisted living home put on a pie eating contest.
And Channel 8’s Megan Conway participated!
The pie eating contest was held at Legacy Arbors Assisted Living.
Some of the residents were there to watch and cheer on the pie eaters.
This was just one event of many happening all across Lincoln to raise awareness.
“All over the world there are people participating in different activities with the Alzheimer’s Association, if you want to donate, there’s a link on their website that you can donate money to and you can also participate in an activity around the community,” said Cassy Richardson, with Legacy Arbors Assisted Living.
The pie eating contest raised a thousand dollars on Friday!
All of it is going to the Alzheimer’s Association.
