A brief cooldown followed by more heat
After an active night of storms that brought forth strong wind gusts and large hail for some, conditions will be much quieter on Wednesday.
A few early morning showers cannot be ruled out, and we’ll hang onto stubborn low clouds for the first half of the day. However, skies will clear after about lunchtime. Skies will turn sunny by the end of the day. We also expect cooler temperatures, likely topping out in the low-80s in Lincoln.
These mostly clear skies will persist overnight and into Thursday morning. We expect light winds out of the southwest, and low temperatures in the upper-50s to low-60s near Lincoln.
We transition back to a warmer pattern starting Thursday. While all of the daytime hours will be mostly sunny and dry, there is a chance for some scattered storms to develop late in the evening and overnight.
Heading into Father’s Day weekend, temperatures will only get warmer. In fact, by the time we get to Father’s Day, we may already be several days into triple-digit heat.
