‘Tree limbs everywhere’ after storm; homes and cars hit in Greenwood

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Greenwood was among many towns in the area hit hard by rain, hail and strong winds overnight

“Tree limbs everywhere, and no power,” George Mink, a homeowner in Greenwood, said on Wednesday.

One family woke up to a tree on top of their home, and it barely missed their vehicle. They were in the basement when the storm hit.

Large trees being pulled up out of the ground from the roots was a common theme in Greenwood.

At one property, a car and home were hit.

The vehicle was partially crushed overnight, while there’s no telling how damaged the house is just yet.

A woman staying there told Channel 8 she contacted her landlord and was told to leave.

Right now, she’s not sure how long it will be until she can return.

Trees also took down power lines in the area, and strong wind flipped campers at a nearby RV park.

The National Weather Service says at least one person was injured.
