Lincoln teen arrested for assaulting officer after refusing search for runaway girl

A Lincoln teenager was arrested for assaulting an officer and calling for his pit bull to attack during search for runaway girl.
Sunday afternoon officers responded to a trailer home on a report of a runaway girl.
The mother reported her 13-year-old-daughter ran into the residence.
Officers made contact with 19-year-old John Thompson III who was uncooperative and refused to allow officers inside to search for the 13-year-old girl.
Officers could smell marijuana and attempted to detain Thompson for harboring the runaway.
Thompson then punched the officer in the head multiple times.
Thompson struggled to open the door to his trailer while he called for his pit bull to attack the officers.
Thompson then turned and spat a mixture of blood and saliva at the officer.
The pit bull was able to exit the trailer and bit the officer on the buttocks.
Thompson also bit one of the officers on the outside of his knee, breaking the skin.
Thompson III was arrested for assault on an officer (x2), assault with bodily fluid, resist arrest; subsequent offense.
