LES works to repair fallen power lines in response to snow storm

LES crews were working around the clock to get power restored yesterday.

A lot of trucks were out repairing power lines brought down by tree limbs and heavy wet snow.

At one point on Sunday, more than 7,000 customers in Lincoln were without power.

“It was nearly 4 inches of heavy wet snow… the outages started around noon… about midnight, 1 a.m., we got everyone back on… we were pretty proud of our guys for getting power restored so quick,” said LES Communications representative Rachel Barth.

Fallen branches also knocked over a few meter readers right off of some houses.

Owners of those homes will need an electrician to put the meter reader back in place.
