Late-night thunderstorms possible Thursday

We are on storm watch Thursday night in eastern Nebraska.

Showers and thunderstorms will begin to develop north of a stationary boundary along the Nebraska/Kansas state line.

Similar to earlier this week, storms will be possible overnight into Friday morning, making for a loud night for some.

Isolated showers were beginning to appear on radar between Lincoln and Columbus around 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Thunderstorms are expected to expand in coverage along a line from roughly Fullerton to Nebraska City.

Thunderstorms that develop will have the potential to produce large hail, strong winds and heavy downpours. It appears that thunderstorms will “train” over the same areas overnight, so there is potential for localized flash flooding.

Rain should move out of southeast Nebraska by 6 a.m. Friday.

Morning clouds will give way to mostly sunny skies Friday afternoon.

Temperatures and humidity will be higher when compared to Wednesday and Thursday.

Temperatures will climb to the lower and middle 90s.  Factor in the humidity – dew point temperatures in the lower 70s – and it will feel like the upper 90s to lower 100s late afternoon.
