UPDATE: Lincoln police say a car accident resulted in a broken traffic signal pole near South and S 40 streets

UPDATE: Lincoln police say the damage to the home is around $15,000 and $10,500 to the traffic box and light pole.

There is currently no traffic signals at the intersection of South and S 40th Streets. 

Until further notice the intersection of 40th & South Street will be:
-controlled by 4-way stop signs in all directions
-restricted to one lane of travel in all directions
-no left turns will be allowed


Lincoln police say a single car accident at the intersection of South and S 40th streets resulted in a broken traffic signal pole and possible damage to a neighboring home.

The accident occurred just after 8 p.m. on Saturday.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital for further evaluation. 

Officials are working to get the traffic signal back up and working again.

Expect delays in the area along S 40th street
