Lincoln Giving Tree helps families in need
A local organization is helping to feed families in need.
On Saturday a food distribution event was held at the Nebraska Sports Complex for low income families in the community who need a little extra help this holiday season.
The Lincoln Giving Tree, a local Facebook group, helped organize the event, which gave out over 100 boxes of thanksgiving food and 50 turkeys.
In addition to the food, hats and gloves were also distributed.
The Lincoln Giving Tree is also planning an event for Christmas time sometime in December.
