“Clay for Cause” fundraiser raises money for local art gallery

The Lincoln community came together to help mold a brighter future for a local art gallery.

Local businesses and the UNL Clay club came together to help support the Lux Center for the Art in a special fundraiser tonight.

On Sunday, hundreds of people came out to the third annual Clay for Cause fundraiser.

For just twenty dollars, a person could enjoy a warm meal donated by many local businesses.

In addition, hand made bowls, created by members of the UNL Clay Club, were also given away as part of the fun!

“Our goal is to make art accessible to everyone in our community. This particular night, where we are raising money to benefit our outreach programs really help take it to the people who couldn’t otherwise access the arts,” said Lindsey Clausen, Education Director for Lux.

All of the proceeds go toward the Lux center’s outreach program.

Lux holds various art classes and after school clubs throughout Lincoln.

Over 150 bowls were ready to go in anticipation for a crowd.

“This is one of our largest fundraisers of the year and we’re really happy with all of the people who came out to help support this and we hope to continue to bring this event to the Lincoln community in the future,” said Clausen.
