Lincoln hotels are gearing up for husker game day
As we get closer to the first college football game day of the year, local hotels are gearing up for the crowds.
The Graduate in downtown Lincoln has all hands on deck preparing for the weekend.
"The whole state of Nebraska is pretty excited about this first week and coach Frost coming back… We are sold out on Saturday night… We do have a couple rooms left but basically sold out on Saturday night," said Troy Terwilliger, general manager of the graduate.
Close to a hundred thousand people are expected to descend on Lincoln this weekend… And a good portion of them are making a long drive to be here for the historic night under the lights.
"We have a lot of people coming in from western Nebraska and eastern Colorado… They will be coming this weekend, so it will be a good time. I think it is safe to say that the entire state has frost fever," said Terwilliger.
On Monday the athletic department released its stadium policies for the 2018 season.
Fans are being reminded to arrive early and plan ahead to find parking, the correct entrance gate and a post game meeting place.
The clear bag policy is still in place as well.
It won’t be long before fans will line the streets of Lincoln, many of whom are saying there is a different kind of feeling in the air.
"It’s one of those things where I think this year it may be different than the last ten years for obvious reasons, maybe the height of anticipation for coach Frost coming back here and what our football team is going to look like because he is here," said Terwilliger.
