Silent auction held for Greenwood family
A hog roast and benefit auction is being held for Greenwood natives Bill and Kayla Despain.
On the morning of June 15th, the Despain’s lost their home and all of their belongings to a fire.
Billy is an active member of the Greenwood Fire Department.
In two short weeks the community set up a silent auction and luncheon for the family at the Greenwood Fire Hall.
"It’s just amazing. We didn’t even know a whole lot about any of this until we got here today. We feel a lot of love. We didn’t realize this many people cared so it is pretty incredible," said Bill and Kayla Despain.
All proceeds raised from the event will go toward the Despain family, including their daughter Emily, who lost all of her birthday presents in the June fire.
