Douglas County has third suspected case of monkeypox
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Douglas County Health Department has reported its third suspected case of monkeypox.
The department said it’s too soon to confirm this case.
Risk to the community remains low, and the health department will contact those who have been exposed.
Anyone experiencing a rash with acne-like bumps and blisters should contact a health care provider right away.
The average incubation period for monkeypox is one to two weeks, but symptoms could show up as early as five days or as late as three weeks.
