Firehouse Subs helps provide ‘much-needed’ equipment to Lincoln Fire & Rescue
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Fire & Rescue is getting some much-needed equipment thanks to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.
The foundation provided a $22,881 grant to the fire department, which will help them purchase dry-dive suits.
“We want to extend our gratitude to Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation and our local Firehouse Subs in Lincoln, NE for providing us with this grant,” said Fire Chief Dave Engler in a press release. “These funds will allow us to provide even greater support for our community.”
LFR spokeswoman Nancy Crist says the suits will help give rescuers environmental protection when near cold or contaminated waters.
For the past 16 years, the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation’s donations have helped first responders and public safety organizations across the country, Crist said.
