Nebraska football’s alternate uniforms will honor ‘legendary’ 1983 team
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – It’s that time of the year again, the Huskers have announced their alternate jersey’s for the 2022 season.
This year’s alternate uniforms will honor the “legendary” 1983 squad.

The 1983 team, which was led by Tom Osborne, ended with a 12-1 record and finished 2nd in the last AP poll of the season.
The Huskers made it to the Orange Bowl, where they lost 31-30 against the Miami Hurricanes.
Standout players on the 1983 team included running back Mike Rozier, who took home the Heisman Trophy that season, and quarterback Turner Gill.

There is no word yet on when the Huskers will don the new alternates during the 2022 season.
The season is steadily approaching as the Huskers will open its season next week against Northwestern in Dublin, Ireland.
