Nebraska volleyball earns No. 1 spot in AVCA preseason poll
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska volleyball is on top in the American Volleyball Coaches Association’s preseason poll.
Nebraska earned the No. 1 spot in the 2022 poll, which was announced on Monday. The Huskers are followed by Texas and defending national champ Wisconsin.
This marks the 101st week Nebraska has spent in the No. 1 spot in the AVCA Coaches Poll, according to the Huskers.

Last season, the Huskers fell just short of a national championship, losing to the Badgers 3-2.
This year, the Huskers will return with several key players from last year’s squad. They also added some new faces, including Penn State transfer Kaitlyn Hord, along with several freshmen.

On Saturday, the Red-White Scrimmage will be held at Bob Devaney Sports Center at 6 p.m.
Nebraska is set to open its season against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Aug. 26.
