Officer in marked car was ‘tired’ when he crashed into truck, Lincoln Police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An officer in a marked cruiser was looking for a place to rest when he collided with a truck early Thursday morning, Lincoln Police say.
Around 3 a.m., the officer crossed the center line and struck a Toyota Tundra near Northwest 48th and Benton Streets.
Police say the officer was “tired” and had been looking for somewhere to park.

The crash caused around $20,000 in damage to the cruiser and about $18,000 to the Toyota, according to police.
The truck’s driver said he felt neck pain after the crash, and the officer had minor injuries to his arms.
Police say the officer will be involved in a safety committee meeting and could face internal discipline.
