Continuing to warm on Tuesday
Starting on Tuesday, the 90s are returning to the area. Although it may be cool enough to need a light jacket in the morning, sunny skies will push temperatures upward very quickly after sunrise.
We’re looking for a high near 91° in Lincoln. Many locations have the potential to reach the lower-90s, although some may be stuck in the upper-80s. This will all be accompanied by sunny skies for most of the day.
While the sky had a bright blue color to it on Monday, more wildfire smoke will be blowing in aloft on Tuesday. That will give the sky more of a hazy appearance.
We expect mostly clear skies on Tuesday night, although some high clouds will be approaching from the west. Those high clouds will arrive on Wednesday morning and stick around through much of the day. We’re forecasting a low in the lower-60s in Lincoln.
While Wednesday appears dry in eastern Nebraska, a stray shower cannot be ruled out to the west on Wednesday evening. Rain chances in eastern Nebraska start to increase on Thursday night.
Aside from the rain chances towards the end of the week, it will still be warm with highs in the upper-80s and lower-90s.
