Wilber-Clatonia inches past Fillmore Central in grueling matchup
WILBER, Neb. (KLKN) – Wilber-Clatonia hosted Fillmore Central for a Class C matchup Friday evening.
Both teams traded blows in the fourth quarter, but the Wolverines came out on top 28-21.
In the fourth quarter, Wilber-Clatonia was up 21-13.
Fillmore Central’s Luke Kimbrough took a handoff and juked defenders to get downfield for the first down.
Later that drive, the Panthers scored and got the two-point conversion off a pass from Trevor Stassines to Dan Stoner.
Now tied, Filmore Central got the ball back after an interception but was unable to capitalize due to a blocked field goal.
The Wolverines’ Aiden Zajicek picked up the ball and took it all the way to the 5-yard line.
This led to quarterback Carter Skleba lunging forward for the touchdown, which put the Wolverines on top 28-21.
