Hastings Fire & Rescue uses pizza to encourage kids to plan for fires

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Hastings Fire & Rescue is getting the little ones involved in fire planning for Fire Prevention Week.

Kids in kindergarten to fifth grade are being asked to help their parents or guardians draw a map illustrating the escape routes in their homes in the event of a fire.

Every child who submits a map will be entered to win a pizza party with the fire crew.

Instructions, a drawing grid and the entry form can be found on the City of Hastings’ website.

Entries will be accepted through Oct. 31, and the winner will be contacted on Nov. 1.
