2 alarm fire at Economy Lodge Motel

Lincoln Fire responded to a 2 alarm fire at the Economy Lodge Motel near the Lincoln Airport tonight.

The fire started in a first floor room. Fire fighters started evacuating guests in nearby rooms. At one point they had to cut a hole in the roof for ventilation.

As of 8:35 p.m. we are told the fire is under control. No reports of any injuries, but fire fighters had to be careful because of the water used to put out the fire turning to ice.
