Lancaster County fairgrounds open to evacuees who have farm animals

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lancaster Event Center announced that people who have farm animals in the wildfire evacuation area can go to the fairgrounds.

The fairgrounds said via tweet that it has outdoor horse stalls and cattle livestock pens with water free of charge for evacuees.

Staff members will be on-site through 9 p.m. Sunday to check people in.

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office announced an evacuation for southwest Lancaster County because of the wildfires.
