Nebraska men’s basketball defeats in-state foe UNO
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska men’s basketball improved to 2-0 on the season after a 75-61 win over UNO at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Thursday night.
“I thought the physicality that our team played with was the thing that I’m most happy with,” head coach Fred Hoiberg said. “You have to have that. You can’t back down when teams go on runs. We’ve kept the physicality, and eventually, we took the lid off the basket.”
C.J. Wilcher finished with a career-high 21 points, bettering his previous best of 17 against Auburn on Dec. 11, 2021.
And Lincoln native Sam Griesel reached 1,000 career points with his first basket of the night and finished with 18 points, seven rebounds and three assists.
Blaise Keita set season highs in both points (nine) and rebounds (12).
The Huskers are now 5-0 all-time against UNO.
