Brittney Griner re-signs with Phoenix Mercury after being imprisoned in Russia

LINCOLN, Neb (KLKN) – WNBA star Brittney Griner will soon be able to return to the game she loves.

She is officially signed with the Phoenix Mercury, which announced a one-year deal this week.

In a statement, Mercury’s general manager said signing Griner is “special.”

He says the team will continue to support her on and off the court.  The Mercury’s home opener is in May.
