UPDATE: Woman reported missing in Lincoln found safe

Authorities said a missing Iowa woman who was last seen in Lincoln has been found safe. 

Lincoln police said officers were sent to the 9900 block of Moonlight Drive on reports that Lois E. Barnard, 77, was missing. Police said Barnard had driven from Grinnell, Iowa to her daughter’s house in Lincoln. The daughter was not home, and Barnard – who has dementia – left in her vehicle without a phone. 

Police initiated an Endangered Missing Advisory Wednesday morning, and were working with Barnard’s family and friends to locate her all day. 

Authorities said Barnard is confirmed to have been located at a care facility in Grinnell, and the EMA alert has been cancelled.
