DHHS holding town halls on child welfare in Douglas and Sarpy Counties

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is hosting town hall meetings about the future of child welfare and case management services for Douglas and Sarpy Counties.

The public is invited to these events, and the meetings include a presentation, along with a question and answer session.

DHHS signed a contract with St. Francis Ministries to provide child welfare case management services, such as foster care, adoption, family preservation, service coordination and resource family recruitment.

The contract will begin on January 1st, 2020.

Town halls were held Tuesday, July 30th, and the next one is Wednesday, August 7th.

There are two sessions, the first is from 3-5 p.m and the second goes from 6-8 p.m.
