Nebraska troopers find missing Colorado children in man’s truck near York

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Colorado man was arrested Wednesday after he was found with two missing children in a traffic stop near York, the Nebraska State Patrol says.
Around 12:45 a.m., a trooper pulled over a Chevy truck that was driving with its headlights out on Interstate 80 southwest of York.
The trooper then discovered that the truck had been reported stolen in Colorado, and its license plate belonged to another vehicle, according to the patrol.
Inside the truck, troopers found two juveniles – a 17-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl – both of whom had been reported missing from Colorado.
The driver, an 18-year-old man, was in violation of a protection order against one of the passengers, and troopers took him into custody, the patrol says.
He was arrested on suspicion of theft by unlawful taking, kidnapping, violating a protection order, possession of an open alcohol container, possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing a peace officer.
He was lodged in the York County Jail.
